Valuation & Financial Modeling
The Migros Group calculates annual capital costs for impairment tests and to value its subsidiaries, business units and investment projects. These are also used in the context of financial management in value-based performance measurement. IFBC was mandated to determine WACC values for various segments. Migros Group is one of the largest retail trade companies in Switzerland and, with over 90,000 employees, is one of the most important private employers in the country. Migros Group is divided into ten regional, autonomous cooperatives, which operate retail trade as their core business. These own the shares of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives (FMC), which coordinates the operational activities of the Migros community and sets the overarching direction, group and corporate strategy. The FMC manages the central purchasing and production for the affiliated cooperatives and administers the holdings of the Migros Group (including Migros Bank, Migros Industry, trade and health companies).
